Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-7)

Recommended for Ages 9 and up

Harry Potter Paperback Box SetHave you ever picked up a book and started reading it, then for whatever reason you had to immediately put it down again. Well, when you pick up any one of the books in the Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-7) you are definitely not going to want to ever let it go. And if you have to and put it down, you will spend so much of your time away from the book thinking about getting back to the story. That’s how engrossing and engaging these stories are by the preeminent author JK Rowling.

I know that a lot of people tend to shy away from this series because it is a young adult fantasy series that seems a little bit childish to certain readers. Well I just want to go on the record and tell you that you will not be disappointed when you start reading these books, and you’ll hardly even feel weird reading books about wizards and magic. Ms. Rowling seriously knows how to pull you into her tale, and you’ll get so sucked into the story line that you will literally feel like you belong in this world. It’s hard not to feel a part of it as you are reading the words that go across the page.

The Heroes of Olympus, Book Two: The Son of Neptune

Recommended for Ages 10 and up

The Son of NeptuneThis is the second book in the Heroes of Olympus Saga created by Rick Riordan, and it is truly nothing short of spectacular. The title of this book is called The Son of Neptune, and it really picks up excellently where the first book in the series finished off. So many people were wondering exactly what happened to the hero Percy Jackson. Now they’ll finally learn the true story of what happened to this courageous champion after he disappeared at the end of The Lost Hero. I definitely know you’ve had some ideas about what has happened to Percy, but now you have the opportunity to read it for yourself and allow this amazing story to unfold right before your eyes.

I really don’t want to unintentionally spoil this incredible book for you, so let’s just say that it is definitely worth it for you to take the time to read this amazing installment into this wonderful series. I highly recommend this book and I give it a full five out of five stars in this review because it totally blew away my expectations and answered some of those pressing questions that I had at the end of the first story. Your kids will love it, and if you take the time to read it I’m sure that you’ll love it too.

Ladder to the Moon

Recommended for Ages 4 and up

Ladder to the MoonBefore we officially begin the review, I want you to be aware that this book is written by US President Barack Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng. I actually read that this book was fully inspired by a painting by George O’Keeffe which makes sense since it’s the same title that this book shares, which is Ladder To The Moon.

The story is about a grandmother and her granddaughter. The grandmother is called Grandma Annie. What’s interesting about this story is that it’s based on the author’s life because in the story the granddaughter and the grandmother never meet, and Maya never had the opportunity to meet her grandmother either.

So the basis for this particular story is a fantastic journey where Grandma Annie will take her granddaughter her on a trip even though she has never met in reality, and bring her where they have to actually use the ladder to the moon.

You should really pick it up for yourself and read the beautiful words and look at the wonderful images and absorb the kind message that is being presented to you. I highly recommend that you check out such a heart-warming book today.
