The Troubled Man
There are a couple of reason why I give The Troubled Man by Henning Mankell a five out of five stars review. Most people would believe that the main reason I liked this book would be the fact that it’s an excellent mystery. While the mystery aspect is definitely something I enjoyed about this book, it wasn’t the main reason why I found this book so engaging and real.
Do you want to know what my reason is? It’s the way Henning Mankell portrays Kurt Wallander as an individual in the twilight of his life who is having a tough time accepting the fact that he’s going to die some day. Throughout the story, we start to see that Kurt’s memory is beginning to slip. You are also clued in to the fact that his health just isn’t what it used to be, and he even comes off as a person suffering from extreme loneliness.
The author also really depicts the way Kurt looks back on his life very well. You can feel the sadness that Kurt feels when he thinks about how he couldn’t make his marriage work. Another regret is that he couldn’t form a strong bond with another human being that would provide him with a lasting relationship.
These are just a few of the many reasons why this book is so special. And I highly recommend you check it out today. It’s a five star caliber novel.

Love You More: A Novel
I really enjoyed and highly recommend the amazing piece of work known as Love You More: A Novel by Lisa Gardner. The story is a mystery novel and it features the main character D.D. Warren. She really is a very convincing central character and you’ll truly appreciate her mannerisms and idiosyncrasies.
First off, let me tell you that this review is a definite 5 out of 5 stars. And I also want to mention that there’s no spoilers so I won’t ruin the story for you.
D.D. is at a period of her life where she is really experiencing and dealing with some truly difficult personal struggles. But this is important because she can really relate and identify with Tessa Leoni who is the person in the latest case that has fallen in her lap. You are originally led to believe that this case is a very cut and dry instance of abuse by her spouse which then unfortunately found a more violent side. But we come to quickly find out that there’s a lot more to this story than meets the eye.
Love You More: A Novel is an excellent mystery that will keep you guessing at every turn. I highly recommend you check it out today.

The Priest’s Graveyard
I’d like to start out this review by saying just how much I truly like all of the work put out by Ted Dekker. He writes books of the highest quality, and The Priest’s Graveyard happens to be one of the best books he’s ever written. The beauty about reading a mystery novel written by Ted Dekker is that it truly seems like you’re reading something that actually took place in the real world because he really knows how to make his scenes come alive.
Another great thing about this book, and any other book by Ted Dekker, is the way that he ends the story. The ending is so surprising, and it goes through so many twists and turns, that you will really have a difficult time trying to figure out just how this incredible mystery is going to end. You will definitely think you’re on the right track as you are reading the story and seeing how it all unfolds at the end, but you will definitely be stunned in a good way because Ted Dekker is truly a pro at writing the quintessential mystery novel.
I highly recommend you check out The Priest’s Graveyard by Ted Dekker today. This book has my complete and total 100% endorsement.
